I just bought a 2013 KLR with 5600 miles on it. I did the Eagle Mike doohickey upgrade, carb upgrade, front and rear suspension upgrades, oil and filter, and lubed and adjusted all the cables. With an IMS tank I carry 7 gallons and go over 300 miles per tank. 2. Modifications. Many more long distance mods can be applied to the KLR than DRZ.A well sorted KLR is fine for riding up logging roads and back country routes. And if I do any camping, I can haul a lot more comfortable sleeping equipment on it (I also need a thick air mattress for these bones!).
