I committed to UC Berkeley as a data science major and I'm worried I may have chosen the wrong major/college. I wish I applied as a computer science major and not data science since I want to become a SWE, work in tech, and ultimately have the career outcomes of a cs graduate. Data science is critical across so many industries and is an interesting field. Just because some students who would have studied CS end up studying DS doesn't mean it's a joke major.
